Singer Cici Departs from Ambitiouz Entertainment

Award-Winning Singer Cici Parts Ways with Controversial Record Label Ambitiouz Entertainment

Renowned singer Cici, also known as Busisiwe Thwala, has recently joined the list of musicians who have chosen to sever ties with the controversial record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment.

Cici, who originally rose to fame under the guidance of her ex-boyfriend Mafokate's label, 999 Music, made the decision to depart from Ambitiouz Entertainment, which she joined in 2017.

Having released her latest album, titled "Sukulila," with Ambitiouz Entertainment in 2021, the talented artist, widely recognized for her hit song "Hamba Juba," has now set her sights on new horizons in her musical career.

According to a close source, the singer had informed the stable boss, Kgosi Mahumapelo, about her decision to part ways with the record label a few months ago. However, it has been revealed that she had been planning her exit since the previous year.

"The exploitation experienced at Ambitiouz Entertainment may be tolerable for newcomers in the music industry who are seeking to establish their name. However, seasoned singers like Cici, who find it unbearable, are leaving the label in significant numbers," added the source.

Cici is currently represented by the Public Relations agency, The House of Thom, while her sister, Sannah, has taken on the role of her new manager, overseeing her music career.

Upon reaching out for a comment, Sannah, Cici's sister and manager, did not answer her phone and failed to respond to the text messages sent to her.

The news regarding Cici's departure from Ambitiouz Entertainment surfaced just a few days after the record label faced a setback in the Johannesburg High Court. They were issued an interdict, preventing them from removing the music of their former artists, Blaq Diamond, from platforms such as YouTube and other digital streaming sites.

In recent years, the record label has faced significant criticism for exploiting their artists. Additionally, there have been allegations of the label paying a mere R3900 per month to another artist, Intaba yase Dubai, despite his songs amassing millions of streams.

Attempts to contact Mahomapelo via phone were unsuccessful, as he could not be reached. Furthermore, he did not respond to the text messages that were sent to him.
